A Classic Kitchen Design

Project Overview

This kitchen was cramped and dated with very little work space.

Project Type: Kitchen Renovation  |  Location: Camrose, AB  |  Project Size: 143 sq. ft.  |  Cabinetry: Maple in our Mission Door style, Painted Summit

Pre-Renovation, this kitchen had a back-entry door to the left of the sink and an island that was too small to be functional. The finishes were dated, and it was time for a complete redesign. We needed to open this kitchen up and create a more functional work zone.

Project Details

Space was the major design challenge and the homeowners decided to cover in the back door and convert the dining room window into a patio door, allowing access to the back deck. This gave the kitchen enough room to wrap around and add a peninsula.

With the additional work space that was created, we were able to add a full pantry wall to maximize storage. We designed a built-in breakfast pantry nook that houses the microwave and previous countertop appliances such as the coffee maker.

The finishes chosen are timeless and we fondly refer to this renovation as our “pretty kitchen”. The oval accent tile piece and crown mouldings to the ceiling are classic and beautiful.

Our Happy Homeowner

"I cannot say enough positive things about Christa from Workshop Cabinets and Design!  She has been great through this house renovation, always quick to update us and kept a constant line of communication which was very much appreciated. She was professional, and truly great to work with. Christa was able to se so much potential that we would never have been able to do on our own. We could not be happier with the results!"
