Project Overview
We were told this pretty little bathroom design was a throwback from the 50's. But that’s ok. We love it.
Project Type: bathroom Renovation | Project Size: 37 Sq. Ft. | Location: Camrose, AB | Cabinetry: Melamine in our Calder Door style, Finished in Aria
These homeowners needed a functional bathroom with a tub and better vanity storage for this busy young family’s day to day life. Pre-Renovation, this bathroom had only a shower, which wasn’t working for their 3 young boys. The vanity was tight behind the door and the drawers couldn’t be used unless the bathroom door was closed, so we decided to make some changes!
Project Details
Space was the major design challenge and expanding the bathroom was not an option. We took out the shower and replaced it with a small but functional 30”x60” bathtub. The vanity is a few inches shallower then a regular vanity, helping to open the space up. The previous drawer bank was replaced with open cubbies that are always accessible. We modified the drawers in the sink cabinet onsite to maximize storage around the plumbing.
The small-scale pattern of the cement tile was chosen specifically to give this small space the wow factor our clients were looking for. The bold pattern is complimented with the clean lines of the vanity and the simple textures of the subway tile and custom linen shower curtain. The layering of pattern and textures make this monochromatic bathroom design anything but boring!
